She started working on bikes professionally around 1994 while attending art school in Atlanta, GA. In the 13 years since then Kate has expanded & sharpened her skills by working at a variety of bike shops all across the U.S. doing everything from wrenching on luxury Road & Tri bikes in Manhattan Beach, CA to running a mobile bike repair shop in Helena, Montana. Locally she has turned wrenches at Two Wheel Travel (r.i.p.), Agees & Rowletts. As the Serivce Manager at Carytown Bicycle Co. she enjoys fixing all varieties of bicycles but singlespeeds are closet to her heart. Some favorites in her possession are her Kalavinka track bike, Spooky Metalhead urban assault bike & CW Racing Pistol Pete BMX bike. She is also interested in doing some epic touring in the near future & has just finished building up a Soma Speedster to be her workhorse.

Kate learned to ride a bike at age 4, started tearing down & rebuilding bikes at age 9 & built her 1st custom BMX bike at age 11. Soon after that she was working on the neighborhood kids' bikes & digging dirt jumps behind her elementary school. She rode everywhere on that bike & was never home before dark. Thus her fascination with bicycles began.
