John has two passions in life, one is all things related to computers, the other is the bicycle. It started off as just a means of transportation because walking was too slow, but gradually he wanted to go faster and farther till it became an obsession till now people recognize him as "that Asian guy on the bike".

The last time John drove a car was in '97 and living in Richmond he hasn't needed a car to get around since everything's relatively close by. In the summer of '99 he seriously took up cycling as an alternative means of transportation and hasn't looked back since.

Life is harder as a bicycle commuter but he wouldn't have it any other way; ice makes things "interesting", snow is just downright fun with freezing rain flying at your face is the worst. He's ridden through three road bikes, his current being a cannondale with a full campgagnolo setup, two track bikes and is currently building up a cyclo-cross to hit the potholes and trails of Richmond.

In the past he helped out with and raced his track bikes in Braden's Sprint Club series as well as raced in numerous alleycat races throughout Richmond City as well as DC and Philadelphia. He loves the opportunity to take his bicycle to other cities and getting lost riding around there.
