Starr is no newbie. Don't let the shyness and tattoos fool you, cycling is no phase for her. Like most people she has ridden a bike pretty much her entire life. In high school she could be seen from time to time riding a vintage road bike, which Richmond fondly refers to as an "old ten speed". At 18 Starr bought her first NEW road bike from Braden and started going on group rides which quickly T-boned into Sprint Club. Not being able to race because she had no fixed gear she promptly threw together a conversion for $50 with parts bought from some eccentric. A trip to the Lehigh Valley velodrome in T-Town that winter with Sprint Club sealed her fate. It was love. Less then a month later that love led to a lot of spaghetti consumption and her DeBernardi track bike. Starr then moved to Boston and worked for the prestigious Belmont Wheelworks, becoming skilled in all things bike related from shoe fit, to bike fit, to product knowledge. A dying breed… Even though Wheelworks is a great shop, Boston just was not the right fit (too cold, and too many funny accents). From there Starr joined Rowlett's. As CBC started to become a reality she was then offered a chance to become part of the team. She was eager to be a part of something new and make a difference in the bike shop world. She has found her place at CBC and now enjoys the title of Sales Manager as well as being certified by Serotta for bike fitting. |
